Connect MyYounit to MyLock

MyLock builds electronic locks for the self storage industry: for entrance doors, lifts, gates, container doors and the units themselves. MyYounit drives them through an API, so your tenant's access follows the contract automatically.

How the integration works

When a booking is made online, it is added automatically to the customer portal and to the access system. For existing customers, the new booking is linked to their earlier ones. The customer receives a unique code, or opens the building, the lift and their contracted units through the app.

When a contract expires, access ends automatically while access to other active bookings is kept intact. If a payment fails, access can be suspended temporarily and released again once the payment comes in — without anyone having to travel to the site. Simplicity is the point.

Because the locks are driven through MyLock's API, nothing has to be maintained twice. You manage bookings, contracts and payments in MyYounit; which door opens for whom follows from that. There is no separate key administration to keep, and no window in which a former tenant still has access because someone forgot to delete a code.

The MyLock devices

MyLock designs and manufactures the devices itself, across three groups: access to the building and its zones, locks on the units, and solutions for containers and custom work. Every device works with both a PIN code and the app, and connects to MyYounit through the API.

Entrance and zones

For the outer door, the gate and the lift — the points where the tenant comes in.

  • Xe — electronic lock for a range of applications, opened with the app or a PIN code
  • XedC — access panel with a camera and a display carrying your own logo and welcome message
  • Xm — the most affordable entry point, app access only

Units

Per unit, in variants for every door type and for buildings with and without wiring.

  • Xbb and Xbw — for left-hinged, right-hinged and roll-up doors; Xbb on battery, Xbw on wired power
  • XbbJ and XbwJ — for flat doors, on battery or wired; the XbwJ has a built-in alarm
  • Zbb and Zbw — the all-in-one lock for left-hinged, right-hinged and roll-up doors, wireless on battery or wired

Containers and custom work

For setups that fall outside the standard range.

  • XcUS — developed specifically for USC container doors
  • Specials — bespoke access hardware; because MyLock designs and produces in house, an unusual door or layout is not the end of the line

Why this combination works

Flexible access

App-only access sounds modern, but not everyone wants another app. With MyLock you do not have to choose: access works through the app and through a PIN code. In the app, your tenant can also grant temporary access to someone else — a mover or a family member — without you having to arrange anything.

Unmanned operations

MyYounit and MyLock together let you run unmanned. When a contract ends, you check remotely through the integrated camera whether the unit is ready for the next customer. An alarm on the unit locks reports it when a door opens that should have stayed shut.

Existing buildings too

Not every building has wiring running to each unit, and it does not need to. The battery variants are entirely wireless, so an existing site can be converted without opening up floors and walls. Where wiring is already in place, you pick the wired version instead.

One point of contact

The software and the locks come from the same place and are built to work together. You do not have to work out which integration matches which firmware, and when there is a question about access there is one party who has the answer.

What the integration delivers

Access starts at the booking and ends with the contract, automatically
No key management and no codes that have to be deleted by hand
The tenant chooses: open with the app or with a PIN code
Temporary access for third parties, arranged by the tenant in the app
Remote unit checks through the camera at hand-over
Wireless variants for buildings without wiring to the units
Locks for left-hinged, right-hinged, roll-up, flat and container doors
Custom work possible, because MyLock designs and produces in house
